The 37th Eye of the Dragon is a challenging USATF certified (FL22006JK) 10K road race which includes an out and back course over the Eau Gallie Causeway and the Indian River. We're sure you'll find the climb, if not the view, breathtaking. If you're not up to the full 6.1 miles, join us for the Tail of the Lizard 2 Mile. Think you can do more? Run both distances in the 10th Anniversary of the Slay the Beast Challenge. You’ll take home 3 medals for 2 challenging races. 2025 will be the 10th Anniversary of the Challenge! All will take place under the watchful eye of the dragon!
Don't forget. We're in the Space Coast Runners "Runner of the Year" Series so SCR members run to score points. Race proceeds benefit the Space Coast Runners Christian Lake Memorial Scholarship Fund. Timing by Running Zone. Event management by Power of Pizza Charities.

To be eligible for the course record bonus at the Eye of the Dragon 10K & Tail of the Lizard 2 Mile, an athlete must:

Not be currently serving a suspension issued by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) or the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for use of a banned substance

Not have ever served a ban issued by USADA or WADA for the use of performance enhancing drugs
-
Not be represented by coaches and/or agents who have had 2 or more athletes receiving such suspensions in the previous 4 years
-
Not be represented by coaches and/or agents who served a ban for use of performance enhancing drugs during their own athletic career*

Provide proper documentation proving they are eligible for prize money (form W-9, W-8ECI or W-8BEN)

Sign a statement attesting they are in compliance with USADA and WADA anti-doping regulations related to banned substance use and if issued a doping suspension or ban in the future, they will not be allowed back at the event for any reason

Consent to random drug testing according to the standards and procedures of USATF, USADA and WADA
Any athlete that believes they have been barred from the event or the opportunity to earn course record money at the event because of mistaken identity due to near or exact name of a person currently suspended, banned or previously banned, must submit documentation certified by a notary in advance to the race director proving that they are not the same person identified as serving a suspension, ban or previous ban.
TRANSGENDER/TRANSSEXUAL ATHLETE INCLUSION & RULES OF COMPETITION*
A runner should enter the Eye of the Dragon 10K & Tail of the Lizard 2 Mile event under the same sex that they declare publicly for all other purposes, with one exception. A male-to-female transgender runner may not enter as a female unless that runner is currently taking hormone treatments that are related to gender transition and has been undergoing treatment continuously for one year.
