This year, Brevard County high school seniors were invited to apply for the Space Coast Runners Christian Lake Memorial Student Scholarship, for which they wrote an essay answering the prompt, “How have I been positively impacted by running?” Reading these students’ stories is always so inspiring and we are delighted that they are part of our running community.

Our committee — comprised of Scholarship Fund board members and two members of the SCR Board of Directors — selected the following students to win scholarships in the amount of $2,000, $1,500, and $1,000:

First place ($2,000): Charlotte Lee, a student at Satellite High School. Charlotte has committed to running track and cross country for the University of South Carolina Beaufort, where she will major in marine biology.

Second place ($1,500): Logan Riley, a student at Melbourne High School, who will be attending Auburn University to major in materials engineering.

Third place ($1,000): Laila Dupuch, a student at Rockledge High School, who plans to attend Florida International University to major in mechanical engineering.

We look forward to honoring these students at the club’s annual Celebration Night on June 7th!
