9th annual BATTLE OF BREVARD FUN RUN | Field of Dreams Park, 3053 Fell Rd., West Melbourne

WHAT'S THIS BATTLE ALL ABOUT?
PARTICIPATION! It's simple. The blue ribbon award will be given to the town/city with the most participants. Every participant who registers at the fun run for the winning town/city will be presented with the very popular, hang it where everyone can see it BLUE RIBBON!
Gather all your neighbors, family members or friends that live in your town/city and encourage them to come run or walk on Wednesday, August 2. Town/City with the most participants (points) wins the battle.
DIRECTIONS
- Arrive at Field of Dreams Park in West Melbourne prior to the 6:30PM start so you can sign in at the Space Coast Runners tent. You must sign in for your city/town to receive credit. Parents may sign for a child under 18 that is present.
- OPTIONAL (but highly encouraged): Participant may wear something with their town/city name on it or their town/city's designated color (see list below) to the event to show town/city pride and to coordinate with other town/city resident participants.
- Go out there and run or walk to represent your City/Town. The course will be set for a 2 mile distance but you can do more or less. No specific mileage is required. You can run on the beach, on sidewalk or a combination of both. It's up to you.
- Share your Battle of Brevard experience on social media!
Every submission counts as 1 point for your city/town. The city/town with the most points at the end of the day will be declared the winner. We'll be handing out the highly coveted BLUE RIBBON to every participant from the winning town/city after the big announcement.
REIGNING CHAMPION
The reigning champion is Merritt Island. Merritt Island is a 3x winner (2017, 2018, 2022).
Viera has the most Battle wins. They've won 4 Battle of Brevard titles (2016, 2019, 2020, 2021).
Rockledge scored a victory in 2015. Who will win the Blue Ribbon this year?
WHY YOU SHOULD PARTICIPATE!
1. The winning town/city's pride will be at an all-time high. They'll have you to thank.
2. For fun runners this could be "the most rewarding run" of your entire week.
3. Think about how great it will be if you get the highly coveted blue ribbon in your mailbox.
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?
1. Each participant will count as 1 point. To be counted, participant must sign-in at the SCR tent prior to running or walking.
2. OPTIONAL: Participant may wear something with their town/city name on it or their town/city's designated color (see list below) to the event to show town/city pride and to coordinate with other town/city resident participants.
3. Get your picture taken after the run with all your town/city's participants.
RULES
1. Sign-up will open for the Battle of Brevard fun run at 5:30 pm and will close at 6:25 pm. You must sign-up prior to your run/walk to be counted.
2. You may physically sign-in one time and under one name only.
4. You may only sign yourself up and/or children under 10 years of age.
3. Be courteous to runners and those around you during the run, including cyclists, cars, trucks and vans. Remember, if there is a sidewalk, pedestrians (runners/walkers included) must use sidewalk over the road. Cars do have the right of way.
4. Have fun. Yes, have fun!
COURSE
Begins at Field of Dreams Park, and follows the marked course thru Max Rodes Park and returns. Look for the Space Coast Runners Tent and all the people at one of the pavillions near the basketball court at Field of Dreams! A bicyclist will lead the runners along a 3 mile course. Just follow the lead, you can turn around at any point if you want a shorter distance. A map will be displayed at the registration table. Town/City Designated Color (wear a shirt, shorts, hat, shoes, whatever!)
