Titusville, FL – March 7, 2026 — Space Coast Runners wrapped up another successful ROY Series race on Saturday, March 7, as the Chuck Wagon 5K took runners through Chain of Lakes Park in Titusville. The race saw 334 runners and walkers cross the finish line. Pat Kiesselbach was named the SCR Random Runner of the race, taking home a $150 Running Zone gift card for free shoes.
Overall Champions
Logan Chapman, 21, of Port St. John took the overall male title with an impressive time of 16:10, finishing well ahead of runner-up Simon DeVoss (16:59). This was a flip-flop from the Eye of the Dragon 10K, where DeVoss edged out Chapman for the win. Space Coast Runners stalwart Steve Hedgespeth rounded out the podium with a 3rd place overall time of 17:54, continuing his strong showing in the ROY Series.
On the women’s side, Lauren Sabol of Cocoa Beach claimed overall honors with a time of 23:33. Jodi Mosley (23:47) and Heather Burnham (23:52) completed the top three female finishers.
Masters Champions (40+)
James Chapman, 55, earned the male masters title with a time of 18:47, while Burlington, CT’s Marianne McCarthy, 59, took the female masters crown in 24:15.
Grandmasters Champions (50+)
Bobby Toenjes topped the male grandmasters division with his 18:58 performance, and Galyn Schenk led the female grandmasters category in 24:32.
Senior Grandmasters Champions (60+)
Dan Cureton dominated the male senior grandmasters field, clocking 22:57, while Donna May captured the female senior grandmasters title with a time of 25:15.
Team Competition
Space Coast Runners secured their first overall team title this year in the team competition at Chuck Wagon. Scoring for the club: Xander Jones, Kevin Jackameit, Dan Cureton, and Rachel Weeks. Congratulations SCR!
The Chuck Wagon 5K marks another important race in the 2025-2026 Runner of the Year Series as competitors continue accumulating points toward season-ending awards.
